Consumer ceramics (glazes)
Consumer ceramics are the general term that describes household goods made of ceramics. Like technical ceramics, these materials must have high strength values.
The ceramics are usually applied and fired as glaze. The challenge here is in adapting the mills or dissolvers in terms of abrasion protection, rather than in grinding the product. Based on many years of experience in this area, VMA-Getzmann has come up with various solutions to protect DISPERMAT® and TORUSMILL® against abrasion. Rotors and dispersion disks with a polyurethane coating, as well as milling chambers made of Al2O3, ZrO2 and SiSiC have proven to be particularly effective. These alternative materials increase the service life of individual components many times over and prevent the product from “graying” due to metallic abrasion.
